Pip's Orchid Throne
Pip wasn't just any peacock; he was the proudest, most adorable little peacock in the enchanted garden, with eyes as bright as two polished ebony beads. But what made Pip truly special were his feathers. Not only were they naturally glorious, but in his daydreams, they shimmered with a thousand unimaginable hues, ready to burst forth with colour.
His favourite spot was a hidden nook where a magnificent semi-circle of Cymbidium orchids bloomed. These weren't just ordinary orchids; they were a painter's dream come true. Their petals glowed with soft rose pinks, delicate lavender purples, and creamy vanilla whites, each with a vibrant fuchsia or tangerine orange blush at its heart. Some even had intricate patterns of tiny chocolate brown freckles, adding to their exotic charm.
Pip would carefully perch in the centre of this floral throne, his little chest puffed out. As he unfurled his tail, it wasn't just green and blue. Oh no! Each feather was a masterpiece. The large "eyes" on his tail shimmered with rings of brilliant sapphire blue, outlined in glistening emerald green, with centres of sparkling gold. The delicate filigree of his smaller feathers fanned out in waves of teal, aquamarine, and shimmering bronze, catching every imaginary ray of sunshine.
He loved the way the deep forest green leaves of the orchids provided a plush bed for his vibrant display. The air around him was always filled with the sweet, imagined scent of honey-gold pollen and the gentle rustle of his shimmering plumage. Pip, the cute peacock, on his orchid throne, was a tiny king of colour, waiting for the day his dream feathers would truly burst into life.
