Under-Bed Kingdom

A story for readers aged 7-9 about a young girl who discovers a magical kingdom hidden within the dust bunnies under her bed, all illustrated in a beautiful ethereal watercolour style.

Under-Bed Kingdom

The flashlight beam cut through the heavy, lint-choked air beneath the bed frame. Mia expected to find her lost sneaker; instead, she found a city. What she had thought were mere clumps of grey dust were actually sprawling, fibrous metropolises. Tiny, translucent figures, no taller than a needle's eye, scurried along suspension bridges

made of silver hair and silk threads. A miniature gala was underway near a discarded candy wrapper, where the "dust bunnies" pulsed with a soft, bioluminescent rhythm. Mia held her breath, realising that every time she had reached for a stray toy, she had been reaching into the heart of an empire.
