Palette of the Past
To bring Silas’s hoard to life, use a mix of weathered metallics and vibrant jewel tones that pop against the earthy forest background.
- The Artefacts: Colour the thimbles and lockets in antique gold and tarnished silver (using soft greys and pale yellows). For the apothecary glass, use a deep cobalt blue or a striking emerald green to suggest a hidden history.
- The Crow: Shade Silas in iridescent purples and blues layered over charcoal black to show his feathers catching the light.
- The Setting: Use warm mahogany for the cedar tree and soft ochre for the distant town buildings.
By contrasting the dull, organic tones of the forest with the sharp, shimmering colours of the "shiny things," you emphasise that these objects are the town’s bright, living memories.
