The Kite-Flying Fox of Fluttering Fields
Flicker was a fluffy fox with fur the colour of warm honey and a tail that trailed behind him like a playful cloud. He lived in Fluttering Fields, a garden bursting with cheerful sunflowers and whispering willow trees. Flicker loved nothing more than a breezy day, for that meant it was perfect kite-flying weather.
One such day arrived with a playful whoosh of wind. Flicker excitedly grabbed his favourite kite, a bright blue one shaped like a soaring bird. He scampered to the highest part of the garden and let the wind catch his kite. Up, up, up it danced, a colourful speck against the vast blue canvas of the sky dotted with puffy white clouds that seemed to race each other.
Flicker held the string tightly, feeling the tug and pull of the wind. He imagined his kite was a real bird, exploring faraway lands. What colours might it see on its journey?
He imagined the Crimson Red of a field of poppies stretching as far as the eye could see, the Silver Grey of raindrops falling on a shimmering lake, the Golden Yellow of a thousand twinkling stars, the Forest Green of a hidden jungle canopy, and the Cotton Candy Pink of sunset clouds melting into the horizon. Each colour painted a vivid picture in Flicker’s mind, making his kite-flying adventure even more thrilling.
