The Neon-Purge Protocol
Akmal flipped the master switch on the rooftop, and his homemade eco-tech machine roared to life. In the colouring book of his mind, the city below was trapped in a dull, charcoal-grey gloom. But Akmal was about to paint over the smog.
With a vibrant hum, the machine's solar panels pulsed with a bright sunflower-yellow energy. The massive exhaust funnel began its work, vacuuming the heavy, slate-coloured smoke and spinning it through layers of bioluminescent green algae filters.
Suddenly, a brilliant swirl of sky-blue and mint-green air shot out of the top, cutting through the haze like a glowing lightsaber. As Akmal dialled up the power, a wave of fresh, emerald-tinted oxygen washed over the rooftops, washing away the grey and restoring the city's sparkling, vivid colours.
