The Hevea Racer
This old bicycle, leaning tiredly against a scarred rubber tree, tells a story in its colours. I’d start the main frame in a deep, oxidised crimson, showing its age. The scratch on the crossbar, however, should be a stark, contrasting bright steel silver where the paint has failed, looking almost raw. The wire basket could be painted a chipped, dusty emerald green, maybe with some rust-brown accents on the bolts. The rubber tree itself would be a mottled grey-brown, and the latex collecting in the cup should be a creamy, milky white. The dense plantation background is a sea of forest green leaves and umber shadows.
